Specialist gut health dietitian for women in perimenopause and beyond

Whether it’s bloating, constipation, or sudden flare-ups, we’ll create a plan that feels manageable, so your gut feels calmer and more predictable.

Do you need a gut health dietitian?

If you’re here, there’s a good chance you’re feeling frustrated, uncomfortable, and fed up with your gut.

Maybe you’ll go “normally” for a bit… then things stop. Then it changes again, it doesn’t make sense, and so you end up second-guessing everything.

When problems arise, they can ruin your whole day. The bloating, the discomfort, the worry about being out, being in the office, seeing friends, doing normal life.

You’ve probably got a lot going on (work, kids, parents, the mental load of midlife), and this just adds another layer.

If you’ve had moments of “I’m fine until I’m not fine,” you’re not alone. As a specialist perimenopause and menopause gut health dietitian, I’m here to help.

“Christel was immediately comforting and set me up with the right diet, dietary supplements and methods… I feel I have it under control thanks to Christel.

I would advise anyone with similar problems that your health is your number one priority and to invest in time with her. Do not try to go it alone!!!”

The gut/hormone connection

Perimenopause and menopause can change how your gut behaves, and if you’ve had IBS, constipation, bloating or reflux for years, things can add up and suddenly feel a lot worse when hormones change.

It’s often a mix of things like:

Sleep disruption and stress hormones

Anxiety and the gut–brain link

Meal timing and patterns (not just what you eat)

Lack of movement (your gut likes movement, too!)

Christel Lyell

Dietitian and Gut Health Specialist

Hi, I’m Christel, a registered dietitian and gut health specialist supporting women in perimenopause and menopause. Especially when IBS, constipation, bloating or reflux have become more unpredictable.

Gut symptoms are rarely “just one thing”, so I don’t do quick fixes, and I don’t treat you in isolation. I’m always asking: what’s going on underneath?

Then we take it step by step, making small, consistent changes. So you feel calmer, clearer, and more confident about what to do when symptoms flare up.

Your gut package options

My Gut Regular

When your main goal is regularity and rhythm, especially if constipation or sluggish digestion is taking over your day.

This package provides the supportive structure to help you get back to consistency.

My Gut Personal

When things feel complex, layered, or long-standing, or you’ve tried many different things, and you’re still stuck.

This package offers more personalised support to untangle what’s going on and give you clear, evidence-based priorities.

Using Private Health Insurance?

I work with most major insurers — including BUPA, WPA, Aviva, Healix, and Vitality Health — for gut health appointments, including IBS, food intolerances, functional dyspepsia, and gastro-oesophageal reflux.

If you have a referral and authorisation from your insurer, you can book a new patient appointment directly. Just have your authorisation code ready.

Gain confidence, and a gut that feels more predictable

Understand why your symptoms are happening

"From the moment I reached out, Christel was compassionate and helpful. She was empathetic and considerate of my previous eating disorder history and reassured me every step of the way. The focus was about adding in rather than restriction, and this has massively impacted my daily routines.

I feel confident I have the tools and knowledge to continue making progress and have a calm and comfortable gut."
